Question: How do you fix an incorrect GEDCOM entry that somebody else submitted at familysearch!.org!?
I discovered that my cousin submitted some incorrect data about my father to familysearch!.org!. Both my cousin and my father are now deceased!. How can I get that data corrected!? Or should I even bother!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

You can't correct someone elses data!. You can only submit another tree!. In it put your source and a note that this is information superceeds the other file (if there is a spot for it) This is why we all need watch what we get from these uploaded trees!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I'm pretty sure LDS (familysearch!.org) will not change information submitted by anyone!. You will have to submit the correct information and it will be in the data base along the incorrect!. As you will see, LDS displays a multitude of conflicting information about the same person in their existing records!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

I don't think you can correct someone else's gedcom!. What you can do is submit a gedcom yourself with the corrected information!.

Family trees on all websites have errors!. People shouldn't copy without verifying but unfotunately a lot do!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
