my mother is tan,so is my grandfather!.!.!.!.with the last name Garcia

The best way is to take the DNA test offered by FAmilyTree DNA or Ancestry!.
You will get a report back that states where your DNA originates from!. Now if you are a female, it will only show the female line!. If you are a male you need to take the YDNA and the MTDNA test to get both sides!. If you are a female, you will need to get a male with your surname (father, brother, father's uncle, father's uncle's son, etc) to take the YDNA test!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

If a male has his DNA done it will only follow his father & his father & his father etc

If you do the female part of the DNA then you will only get your mother & her mother & her mother etc!.

We have not yet gotten to where we can trace every line!. We will in time but it might be 50 years down the road or as early as next week!. All we can do is wait!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
