Question: Help! Can you help find evidence for the death of a Korean War Bride!?
In response to another Yahoo! Answers blogger's request, I have looked through Social Security Death Records on Ancestry!.com for a Sunja Moon who in 1975 married an American with a name that sounds like Ban, Bener, or Bhaner!. Sunja died in April 2007 and was a naturalized U!. S!. citizen, according to the poster with whom I am corresponding!. I've tried looking under the following last names: Bain, Ban, Baner, Banter, Bener, Benter, Bon, Boehner, Bond, and Boone!.

Could I be missing some very obvious clues!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

My ancestry account is currently inactive (choose- new tires or ancestry!?) but I have used the version of the ssdi at rootsweb more often, since I like the advanced search option!. One way that I have "milked" that site in the past!.!.!. is to trick it by using NO name, but just the locality, along with month/year of death!. IE>> I can force a list of all persons who died in Dallas co, Tx in Jan 2000 without either surname or last name!. I've pulled up entries with misspellings this way!. (there are 12 Soonjas in there as well!.!. dates don't match)!.
Of course, I hear you saying "they don't have the locality, that's what we are looking for"!.!. (smile)!.!. so, that might not be an option!. Brainstorming!. Obvious errors that I have seen in past!.!. name not spelled right!.!. date of death is different, even if person is CERTAIN it was a specific month/year!.!.!. person died at place different from where they lived!.!.!. person is military wife!? and the most obvious, she MIGHT not be in ssdi, for some unknown reason!.
Alternate approach could be back to the husband or children, who could be somewhere in zabasearch, etc!. But that requires a solid spelling, of course!.!.!. if the person can possibly come up with that!.
You are a solid researcher, Evelyn!.!. kudos to you for the effort!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

Can you search without using a last name!? I searched for " Sunja" and only had 5 hits!.

She may not be in the SSDI, if death benefits were not paid!. You may be better off checking for an obituary online!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
