By the way, I think you're awesome! Let us know if you get stuck, there are several of us here who enjoy helping people!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

There is a lot you can find online, but you should seek paper records to confirm online data!. Some people post speculative family trees, for whatever reason!.

Another answer mentioned the Mormons!. They operate Family History Centers, and it is quite possible that there is one by you!. You don't have to be a Mormon to use them, and the volunteers who work there are most helpful!. Looking at the materials that they have locally is free!. They are sure to have census indexes, which you may find useful!. There are small charges for printing and for ordering records that they do not have in-house!.

Have you looked through your own family records!? Marriage certificates often include parents names, and sometimes their birthdates and birth places!. Birth and Death certificates are occasionally treasure troves of information!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Your grandparents' names were Valentine and Sarah Sprague, who were ages 62 and 61 in 1920!. Children in 1920 census are listed as Ruth and Olive, ages 25 and 23!.
Does that sound right!?

You can search the 1880 census for free on Ancestry!.com or go to Rootsweb and some censuses are transcribed!. Good luck!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Your father's birth or death certificate should have that information!. However, each state has its own laws about who, when and where a person can obtain vital records on another!.

I agree with one of the above posters!. Don't go by family trees on ANY website, free or not free!. They are subscriber submitted and mostly not documented or poorly documented!. There are errors and that is true even if you see the same information repeatedly by many different subscribers on the same person!. A lot of people copy without verifying!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I checked the 1900 census at http://pilot!.familysearch!.org/recordsear!.!.!.
a new FREE LDS site!. They are digitizing their records and making them available online for free!. It is 98% complete and I found an Eddie born Oct 1891, but there werent any siblings!. If the brothers and sister were born after 1900, this might be him!. If the siblings were about the same age (1890's) then he isnt in NY in 1900!. I think it filters born in NY!. I looked at every Sprague born in Oct 1891!. He isnt listed under any other name!. I know ourl ocal library has a free ancestry!.com, pull up the WWI draft and double check his birthdate!. He is in Tn by then!. Maybe pull up Raymond too!. Get his birth date and go to the above link!. I also put in Raymond and not a single fit with a brother!. They likely werent counted in 1900!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

How-lee lowrd!. Your DAD was born in 1891!?

Well I dono if you would do this, but the Mormon church has HUGE geneology records!. If you started going they could probably help you look it up!. I know they found a LOT of Nickos's that we couldn't find on our own, so you might try that!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

go to any Mormon church, and they have geneaology records there plus people who will help you for free!. They do it because it's part of their religion!. You don't have to be a member there or anything, but you might have to make an appointment!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
