Question: How can I find out my family history!?
I only my parents and grandparents name, and not necessarily where they were all born and what dates, if that matters!.
We're in the Bahamas, as far I can tell parents/grandparents were born somewhere here, or have been here for a long time!. Any ideas!?!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Yay for Terry!.
Just one thing to add!.!. genealogy is always built on records, and NOT on what someone may (may not) remember!. Even when you ask family, you need to determine some sort of document to back it up!. 99% of the time, when you do get a record, it will show you MORE than you were told, as well as correct any mistakes!. If your grandparents are living, they would normally know who their own parents (maybe grandparents) were!.
The records YOU use will be located where you are, but as you work back!.!. you will find one that gives a place of birth other than the Bahamas, possibly!. The dates and places are critical to finding what records exist!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

You can start with googling their names!. This may take a while!. Follow up on any leads or names that LOOK related!. Look in old phone books (some major libraries keep them) and even contact the Salt Lake City Geneology Library!. Granted, it's run by Mormons if that would bother you, but the church is big on geneology and gives all visitors great assistance in finding their relatives!.

Geneology takes a lot of research and time, so be patient!. Not all leads lead to anywhere!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
