He is DEFINATELY Italian!.

My grandparents came straight from Italy, so I know a lot about Italian people(:

Normally, people who are almost 100% Italian (like this guy) are tall, tan and have dark hair!. They almost look Spanish, but then if you look at a Spaniard and the Italian, you'll be able to tell the difference!.

People who are just a little Italian will have darker-than-normal hair, so for instance, a blonde wouldn't be an Italian (unless he/she died their hair) They'll look more American than Italian, but you'll still be able to see a hint of Italy in them!.

also, look for hand motions!. Everyone on my mom's side of the family uses hand motions to describe EVERYTHING!. It's so funnny, when my mom is on the phone, she'll be using her hands like the person can see her!.

Example: An Italian was talking to you, and he was trying to describe to you a bridge that looked like an arch!. He would describe it with words, but he would also use his hands to make the shape of an arch!.

Those are the big things you should always look for!. Then there's some little, minor stuff, like how bushy their eyebrows are, or how short they are!. Once you master the basics, you can look for the little stuff!.

hope I helped :DWww@QuestionHome@Com

Well there are different regions in Italy, therefore the people's appearances vary and you can't always characterize them!. Northern Italians usually have more light features like blue/green eyes and blonde hair, kinda like Ray's mom from Everybody Loves Raymond!. Southern Italians have the more darker features (dark hair, dark eyes, olive skin tone)!. The guy in the picture does look like he could be Italian!. Usually you can figure out someone's nationality by their last name!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Italy was not a unified country until the mid to late 1800's!. So many different principalities and city-states were conquered and then rebelled that you would need to look at the history of each area over time!.

My father's family came from southern Italy and even though my father had brown eyes, dark hair and olive skinned, his father had blue eyes and reddish hair!. I have red hair and blue eyes (my mother is German with red hair and blue eyes) but the blue eyes would not have made it to me had there not been blue eyes on my father's side!.

The name Giovannni is the Italian version of John!. The prefix "Di" would likely be close to the word "of"!. It is kind of hard to follow surnames before the 1600's as they were not used very often and nicknames or descriptives for occupation or origin were common!.

One other historical event that affected Italy was the black plague!. It likely changed the face of Europe - literally!.

also, the fact that Italy is a peninsula leads to lots of passers by who would stay and propagate where they landed!.

By and large there is a kind of cultural norm with Italians and as one answer mentioned, the use of gestures is very common!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

my grandparents and father were born in italy,100% italian descent, and my grandmother was blue eyed and blonde,my grandfather had reddish brown hair and my father has red hair and green eyes!.some italians do have dark skin and hair, but its an over generalisation to think all of them do!.i was born in the us!.i have brown hair and green eyes!.my brother has auburn hair and hazel eyes!.all of us have light skin and sunburn easily,evry1 always assumes we're irish!.none of us wears much jewelry, and certainly not the stereotypical gold chain!.the only gold i wear is my wedding ring!.my grandma never dyed her hair, italians from the swiss alp border, often look blonde ,prolly over the years people from italian/swiss/german alp area intermarried!.ps-i do "talk" with my hands,tho!!!!!Www@QuestionHome@Com
