Near as I can tell!.!. so far, you have Roy's birth/ death dates from the social security death index, but no documentation on anything else!. If grandma says his mother was Kizie Lang!.!. then that is probably accurate, but you still would be very wise to obtain his death certificate and confirm what it says!.
The same is true of the sibling names!.!. an obit for Roy when he died, would be likely to confirm those!. I tried using Sherman as a search!.!. and I did not see him in either the census OR the social security death index!. So!.!.!. he has another name, or may have been born after 1930!.
Most of all!.!. is GRANDMA the source for the name of Roy's mother, or are you taking that from the 1930 census which was posted here!? If you have the name only from the above 1930 census!.!. nothing proves it to be the mother of YOUR Roy, and it is possible the wrong census entry was picked up!. That is very common!. For the moment, this is basic research issues, and nothing to do with Native american or not!.
While we all would love to save money!.!. lack of documentation is the one biggest road block, in my opinion, in all of research!. I strongly suggest dropping back, getting Roy's death certificate, and whatever is possible to locate any of the siblings in the social security death index, or other valid documentation!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
