Question: Common/Popular Swiss Names!? (Surnames and First Names please!)!?
Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
Switzerland has three official languages: Italian, Swiss and French!. The names tend to be clustered in small area because travel was always very difficult so there wasn't dispersion of names!. Until the 1900s there was very little travel between the different regions!. If for no other reason than it's very rugged terrain!. So there aren't "common" names the way there are in countries like Great Britain, Germany or France!. There are clustered names that may be common in their kanton, but not found elsewhere in the country!. The same is true of first names!. Maybe the one first name that's common between all three language groups is Maria/Marie!.!.!.but in the French areas it's more likely to be hyphenated with another name!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Well Swiss people will not have many NATIVE names!.

Swiss are made up of four races; Germans, French and Italians, and also Romansch!.

The Romansch are the ancient indiginous swiss, and speak a Latinised Germanic language!.

If you Google Romansch names, you may find common ORIGINAL Swiss names!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
