It's a JOKE!

It is just a reference to the alleged fecundity of the Scots!. As soon as one is born, another is conceived!.

You could just as easily substitute any other socio-racial group i!.e!. Peshawahar Twins, Polish Twins, Aussie Twins, etc!. ad infinitum!.

The joke is (and here is the "nudge-nudge, say no more" part) that Other people cannot help but procreate!. Not like "Us"!. "We" are Superior!. "No sex, please, we're British" and so on

The term is a throwback to Victorian "morality", in which the Scots, and the always troublesome Irish, represented all that was wrong with Society!.

Not unlike the "toothless Springer rednecks" in our Society!.

But I digress!.!.!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I've heard Irish Twins!. It refers to the tendency in the past for Irish Catholics (in the US at least) to have lots of children, where the mom was pregnant soon after delivering the previous child!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
