I'm 99% certain you'll have to go to the library in the town he was murdered and wade through old newspapers on microfilm!. The story, if there was one, would be in the paper on the day after he died, maybe!. It might be in on the day, if he was killed at 4 am and the paper was an afternoon one!. It might be up to 3 days after!.

If you don't live there, send the library a donation ($10 seems about right), his name, the date he died, and a stamped self-addressed envelope!. They will either look for you or return the check!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

If he died before you were born, it was probably also before newspapers started putting their stories online!. You can check with the major newspapers in the area where he died to see if there was a story about him in their online archives!. Otherwise, you know when he died, so go to the library and start flipping through newspapers in the weeks after his death to see what was written!. There's not a murder (even here in Detroit where we have way too many) that doesn't find its way into the newspaper!. The only question is whether the newspaper that printed the story is only in the library or if it's available to you from your home computer!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

If you know his name you can probably search the Social Security Death Index!. That will tell you when and where he died!. After you find that out you can search the archives of the local newspapers of the city he died in!.
Do you at least have the spelling of his full name!?Www@QuestionHome@Com
