There are over 400,000 free genealogy sites!. At the moment Y!A is not letting me paste my standard answer, perhaps because it is long!. I've never done it either!.!.!.A guy I used to work with was into it to the point that any free time he had he was workin on it!. No social life what so ever!.!.!.lol
