Question: What nationality is this name!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!?

It's a last name!. The name is Husnander!. Anyone know what nationality it is!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

I did a quick check on Ancestry!.com and looks like there are only about 5 Husnanders in the US, 3 in Florida and 2 in Rhode Island!. According to a 1910 census record (see link below) the name is Swedish!.

(Upon testing the link, it only works if logged in on Ancestry!.com!. Anyhow it said this John Husnander was 37 in 1910 and was born in Sweden, as were both his parents!.)

Husnander almost certainly is a hybrid of names!. The former is that of Hus which is seen throughout the baltic region but originates in Czeckoslavakia!. The latter being Nander is also observed in the baltic region but appears to have been taken on mostly by families of traders with links to the indian sub continent, and therefore Tebs has supplied you with a very valid link!.
I would suspect from the examination of similarly adopted hybrid names that yours originates not from Sweden, Germany, Holland or France but from Denmark!. My view however is given purely on percentages and does not rule any of the other contenders out!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Maybe it is a miss spelled version of Huslander, which is a slightly more common name (its gets 6 times as many hits on google)!. When names in immigration and birth registers were still written by hand, mistakes were made sometimes and people got stuck with a different surname!.

On familysearch!.org I found some persons with the surname Huslander from Germany and Finland!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I do not know if this is the origin and I do not know what the prefix Hus might mean, but Nander is a place in India :

I would agree it sounds German!. I tried a few websites I have access too and know of but couldnt find that last name anywhere except under www!.familysearch!.org for social security death index!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
