Most of us don't use charts!. Keeping your data in a genealogy program is better!. It is like writing a novel with "Word" compared to writing a novel with a pencil and a pad of yellow paper!.

If, for instance, you find out G-G-G Uncle Elmer was really born in 1867, not 1876, you can change his birth date without having to erase it on paper!. If you find out he wasn't G-G-G Uncle Elmer, he was G-G-G Grandfather Elmer, only he used Jefferson E!. on three censuses and Elmer J!. on three more, you can change that, too!.

The Mormons let you download theirs for free!. It is called "Personal Ancestral File", or "PAF"!. Many people swear by it!. You can buy Roots Magic or Family Tree Maker, if you want to pay and get more features!. Once you enter the data, you can print it off in a number of ways, just like you can print two copies of your Christmas newsletter in "Word", once you compose it!. (One for your aunt who needs it in 24-point font because her eyes are bad, one with two columns for the rest of the list!.)Www@QuestionHome@Com

Family search!.org really good free site ancestry!.co!.uk/ or com have free bmd,s !. Cindys list !. just google free downloads for tracing ancestors !.There is quite a few out there!. With family search, sometimes too much info , wont pick up anybody, if this happens just put in surname, it takes a little bit longer, but you get more results!. if you go to friends united on there is a link to genes united its got a real good family tree chart and you can add birthdates and deaths also plus peoples personel info i use it a lot think its ￡7-50 a year stillWww@QuestionHome@Com
