Question: Surname meaning - BAEYENS!?
The surname is used in Belgium, but it may originally have been Dutch!. I've tried looking online and I can't find much, because the name seems to be quite rare!.

Do you know what it means!? Or perhaps where there's a definitive listing of Belgian/Dutch surnames!? The lists I've found so far are incomplete!.

Thank youWww@QuestionHome@Com

Well I can't help you on that name - but the author of the book I told you about Kathy Chater - "Family History Made Easy - lists various books that can help when searching for Surnames - I take it they will be all English names!. - have not looked at any of the books listed below yet myself!.

Books Are: Cootle Basil - The Penguin Dictionary of Surnames (Penguin Books)

Hanks, Patrick and Hodges, Flavia - A Dictionary of First Names
(OUP), (An earlier version of this book, The Oxford Dictionary of English Christian Names by E!.G!. Withycombe, is in some ways more useful to the family historian because it includes historical information about the use of names in documents and other sources!.)

Mills, A!.D!. A Dictionary of English Place Names (OUP)

Reaney, P!.H!. and Wilson, R!.M!. Dictionary of English Surnames!.

Hope this may help you!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
