Question: Does anyone know the Origin of the last name of Garduno!?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
yes, no, maybe or d (all of the above)!.
You know that many Mexicans will trace back into Spanish origins!. So the above would be correct!.
At the same time!.!. looking at ancestry!.com, I often go to the 1880 census, which includes (among other info), the place of birth for the PARENTS of each person!. If I randomly pick someone who is older!.!. like the guy whose birth was in 1802, then look to his PARENTS birth place!.!. that works you back to 1700s!. In this case, he says both his parents were actually born in New Mexico territory (which in the 1700s, would be part of Mexico, of course)!. All the Gardunos I see in 1880 are in that area, and solid as to their background!.
If you id your direct ancestors of the name, this is probably where you will find them, and the local history is likely to have information!.
I think the real answer is D!.!. all of the above!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

This is what www!.ancestry!.com has to say about the name!.
