NOTES ON DANIEL F. MOORE , I:
Occupation: Cumberland Presbyterian Minister
He enlisted October 7, 1861 in Tarrant County, Texas as a private at the age 19, and served in Company G, 9 Regiment Texas Infantry.Enlistment officer was J. A. Moore.
January 1862-- he was trained as a nurse to wait on the sick. He acted as a non-licensed doctor.
Company Munster Roll states he was wounded at Murfreesboro and is missing. March and April's company Munster roll states he was in Petersburg, Virginia, on his return from the hands of the enemy. April 5, 1864 was sent home unfit for duty due to injuries received in battle. Pvt. D. F. Moore, Co. G, 9 Regt. TX. Inf. Subject Medal of Honor. General order number 131/3, October 3, 1863.
Daniel was a Cumberland Presbyterian Minister, who preached from the "Enchanted Rock". Enchanted rock is located around Round Rock, Texas. Enchanted Rock is surrounded by many colorful legends. Rev. Daniel Moore preached every year for many years on the last Sunday of August on top of the Enchanted Rock. He based his sermons on the Scripture Matthew 16:18, "Upon this Rock I will build my church." Of coarse the rock he spoke of was Jesus Christ.
Some say Daniel had no full brothers or sisters. One theory says he had one half brother and one half sister by the name Moore.
In 1857 Daniel's mother died, and this is when they all moved to Erath County, Tex.

NOTES ON NANCY:
It is said Nancy's family moved to Klondike, (Greenville) Hunt County, Texas when she was seven years old. They later moved to Wieland, Hunt County, Texas.
Nancy died at 5 AM on February 24,1913 in Hamlin, Jones County, Texas. She is buried five miles out of Hamlin in Jones County.
June 14, 1900 Census --shows Nancy as head of the house. Plus it states mother of 9, 7 children living. Tree owner says he only has record of eight children.

Hope this helped a little bit.

Is it possible that he lived to at least 1929-1930??? I ask because I found the birth of a Daniel Bonner Morpe in Palo Pinto County (Mineral Wells is in this county), Texas in 1930. His father was Daniel Fitch Moore and his mother was Grace Bonner.

Perhaps the father mentioned above is the son of the Daniel Fitch Moore you are searching? According to the Social Security Death Index, there was a Daniel Moore (no middle name or intitial given) who was born in 1902 and died in Mineral Wells, Texas in December of 1984.

Does this ring a bell?

If you know
1) His wife's first name
2) a couple of kids' names and birth years,
3) What county Mineral Wells is in

We could try to find him in 1910 for you. You'd have to share those facts with us, of course. Texas has a lot of small counties and people have been known to move. His wife's name and a couple of kids would pin him down no matter where he was in 1910, maybe. Like as not he's hiding out as "D F" and his kids are "R L", "J D" and "G W". Anne Louise, his wife, will be Louise Ann or A. L.

But we can try.

Have you tried for his obituary, death certificate, cemetery records, funeral home records?

http://wc.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/...
according to this file, he died in 1887 in Bridgeport, which is Wise county.
You may want to survey this file and the notes. If he was in Wise county, their genweb site is among the best on the internet. However, what I see in the notes is that the youngest children were born in Hunt county. I would expect any probate files or such to be there.
