you are in a time crunch, Bonnie. Does she have any brothers, dead or alive?? She may not have had a birth cert, depending on place of birth, but she should be in the census. What we need is a place prior to 1930, and allied names to identify the right family.
I have ancestry.com and can do a look up.. send direct to my email caldwell1949@yahoo.com and I'll see what I can find. It needs to be US, however.
(if you feel ok with it and you are US, include phone number.. if I have to ask questions to id the family)

In the 1920 census, she would have been 7 years old and in the household of her parents. Do you know her maiden name? Does your local library have an online program called "Heritage Quest"? If so, they will give you a paper with instructions on how to access the program. All you need is a library card. Just search for the last name in census records for 1920.

Also, USGENWEB, Rootsweb and Cyndi's List are free but someone must have sent the info to them. And, the LDS site, Family Search, is free and has lots of data. All of these sites are easy to access.

I hope I haven't completely confused you.

Try ellisisle.org or the Mormon's. They have a great database of immigrants to this country.

Good Luck

Perhaps http://www.ancestry.com may help. Best wishes!

I like ancestry.com. They were even able to locate family slave roles. You can purchase all public information (wedding, death, birth certificated and view them/print them online.)
