www.behindthename.com says Logrien is similar to
Legrand
Usage: French
Statistics: United States ranked 5,335 out of 88,799 last names and, in France, it ranked 31 out of 1,000.

In French it means "the tall or large person".

www.ancestry.com says this about Legrand: Name Meaning and History
French and English: nickname from Old French "grand", "grant" ‘tall’, ‘large’ (occasionally used to denote seniority rather than size), with the French definite article le. It was taken to the U.S. also as Huguenot name.

Believe it or not, these are the ONLY listings on the site for the name:
1880 US Census :
1. Frank LOGRIEN - 1880 United States Census / Massachusetts; age 9
Gender: Male Birth: <1871> BOSTON; his parents were born in SWEDEN
(I wonder if the place he was living was an orphanage or something, because other than the head of the household and his wife, all the residents are between the ages of 5 and 16, and list "Other" as the Relationship.)

U.S. Social Security Death Index
2. John LOGRIEN - U.S. Social Security Death Index
Birth: 13 Feb 1902 State Where Number was Issued: Maine Death: Oct 1971

3. Alma LOGRIEN - U.S. Social Security Death Index
Birth: 27 Dec 1913 State Where Number was Issued: Massachusetts Death: Dec 1986

4. Howard LOGRIEN - U.S. Social Security Death Index
Birth: 4 May 1907 State Where Number was Issued: Massachusetts Death: Oct 1981

Is any of them related to you??

www.ancestry.com--family tree info shows Frank's wife and son:
Howard S Logrien
Parents: Frank Logrien & Grace G French
Birth: 04 May 1907
Sanford, Maine
Death: 20 Oct 1981

This lady was listed as an"alternate wife" to Howard:
Alma (Nickerson) Logrien--#3 above
Parents: William W Nickerson & Emma E. Perkins
Birth: 27 Dec 1913
New Bedford, Massachusetts
Death: 25 Dec 1986

Sounds Celtic.
I couldn't find any info on it though sorry.

Try Houseofnames.com

There is a Frank Logrien in the 1880 census, living in a children's home. It lists his parents as coming from Sweden. There is also a Joe Tony Logrien, whose WW1 Draft registration lists his place of birth as Russia.
I can't find anyone else by that surname in the Ancestry.com immigration records.
