If you're half Italian, that would mean either your mother or your father is entirely Italian with nothing else mixed in. If one of your grandparents is full Italian, you are 1/4 Italian. And so on and so forth.

Pretty much, you need to first figure out which side of your family is Italian and how far back it goes.

If both your parents are Italian then you are full Italian. If you have a child and your husband wasn't Italian then she would be half Italian. By the way I am full Italian if you can't tell.

if you have 1 Italian grandparent, you are 1/4 Italian, if you1 Italian great-grandparent you are 1/8 Italian, etc, etc, It's just a question of math, I have one grandparent who is Scots-Irish, Welsh and Dutch so if one of your ancestors has multiple ethnicitys', it gets more complicated but just figure it out mathematically

No. You are only half IF one of your parents is 100% AND that is the ONLY Italian heritage you have........meaning no one in your other parent's family has any Italian heritage to add to that percentage.
