What can i use to preserve old family papers and photos in a photo album?

Question:Is there a special type of album i can purchase (preferably not very expensive!) ? I need one for a bunch of really old photos and papers that have been kept in an album that is in really bad shape. any type of help with preserving old stuff would be nice!

Do a search on archival scrap booking. There are several sites that have advice and products to preserve your old papers.

not sure about the special album but you can laminate them and duplicate them.
i would suggest that you make 2 albums, use the duplicates for show and put the originals in an album and then in a safety deposit box somewhere.

My advise to you 'depending on how important the documents are' is to digitally scan them on a high resolution scanner to preserve what you have, then possibly have the documents covered with thin contact lamenent.
If you don't have a scanner yourself then some companies will do the work for you. If you wish they can digitally remaster the documents 'especially the photographs' if they are not too badly damaged. this is of course not cheap.
