Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: where would i look and what information would be found?

If you know the place where the marriage took place this is the best site for free:
http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/...

try www.free b m d or www.family search.org If you find them theres lots of info you can check on

Try the local parish records or library.

The most likely source of info is parish records. A lot of records are partially transcribed online at:
http://www.familysearch.org/
There are also some pre-1837 marriages transcribed on ancestry under the Pallot marriage index, though there are less records than family search on ancestry, and they are largely for the London area.
If you can't find the marriage you're looking for at either of these sites, you may want to visit the local library and check through archived parish records which are kept either in book form or on microfilm.
Good luck.

You could search the Pallott marriage index on www.ancestry.co.uk , you can use the new pay per view system they have started , if you don't already have membership with them, or failing the Pallott index you will have to use the Parish records.

Older records don't give you as much info. As well as the answers above try
