You might try this site: Records of the Bureau of Indian Affairs [BIA] 75.20.25 Records of the Mekosukey Academy, OK. 75.20.26 Records of the Mesita Day School, NM ... 75.20.51 Records of Wheelock Academy, OK ... archives.gov/research/guide-fed-record... 75.20.51 Records of Wheelock Academy, OK Textual Records (in Fort Worth): Student case files, 1911-53. Register of students, 1916-26. Depending on her age, if you have her name, you may be able to find a birth record at familysearch.org or possibly on a census. The National Archives Records of the Bureau of Indian Affairs [ BIA ] They have records for Wheelock Academy-!916-1926. Check with the BIA. They should have records since they were the agency that would have funded the Indian Schools. If you are on the rolls they should have a record to identify your grandmothers parents even though she was an orphan. |
