Question:I've asked before but I'll ask again: my grandmother was full blood choctaw. She was an orphan and was sent to Wheelock Academy. Is there a way I can find enrollment records to find out who her birthparents are? Please don't just give me links to the choctaw website, I am choctaw you know!

You might try this site:
Records of the Bureau of Indian Affairs [BIA]
75.20.25 Records of the Mekosukey Academy, OK. 75.20.26 Records of the Mesita Day School, NM ... 75.20.51 Records of Wheelock Academy, OK ...
archives.gov/research/guide-fed-record...

75.20.51 Records of Wheelock Academy, OK
Textual Records (in Fort Worth): Student case files, 1911-53. Register of students, 1916-26.

Depending on her age, if you have her name, you may be able to find a birth record at familysearch.org or possibly on a census.

The National Archives

Records of the Bureau of Indian Affairs [ BIA ]

They have records for Wheelock Academy-!916-1926.

Check with the BIA. They should have records since they were the agency that would have funded the Indian Schools. If you are on the rolls they should have a record to identify your grandmothers parents even though she was an orphan.
