ancestry.com offers a free 14 day trial.
Thru this site, you will be able to search the Social Security Death Index.
Some libraries subscribe to it and will allow you to access it, if you have a library card.

If you know where your dad died, contact that State for a copy of his death certificate. It will have his birth place and his parents names listed; also his mom's maiden name. Fill out the application and use a money order to pay the fee (checks take longer to clear). It takes about 6 weeks for results.
The name of the funeral home will also be listed on the death certificate. They may be able to search their records for his obituary for a list of siblings/survivors.
Due to identity theft, you will not be able to obtain a copy of his birth certificate.
Good luck.

and if you look up family tree organizer then that may find others.
theres alot of them too

If he died in 1984, you probably won't find his parents on any web site. You might not find his grandparents on-line either. In the USA you'll have to use paper - birth certificates, death certificates, SSN applications, obituaries, funeral home records, cemetery records - to find them. Not all documents will have all the names and you may not be able to get some of the documents. (You may get more if you are his daughter, despite the identity theft rules, than a stranger would.)

If your late father had brothers or sisters who are still alive, they would be an excellent source.
