I've always seen DNA profiling in conjunction with crime so I think that's not what it's called. It appears that what you're looking for is DNA research or DNA heritage. You also want to use the term genealogy if you're searching for this on-line.

This site might help you get started:

It's "Genetic Genealogy" if you are interested, you can find out all about it at http://www.familytreedna.com

It is a science which is evolving almost week by week. The more people who test from all over the world, the greater the accumulation of knowledge will be, this will in turn enable more precise patterns of migration to be established, leading to a greater understanding of where our distant ancestors originated.

Your Y-DNA shows your male lineage, father, g/father, gg/father, ggg/father and so on, back to the first male on your patrilineal side.
Your Mtdna shows your mother's lineage, i.e. her mother, her mother, her mother, and so on, back to the first female on her matrilineal side.

The only way you can get a total and complete profile of your lineage/heritage is if a company does it on your autosomal DNA.

Y DNA is passed solely from father to son

Mitochondrial DNA is passed from mother to both sons and daughters but only the daughters pass it on to their children.

You get autosomal 50-50 from both parents.
It is the only DNA that related a female to her father or a male to his paternal grandmother or maternal grandfather.

Geneology would be the right word .

A question , are you in anyway a related to the Mughals .Invadors ....???
