Where does the lastname Lamig come from?

Question:I've allways been intrested knowing where does my last name come from. I've hear some other similar lastname like laming, it said is german thougth I not sure either. Well fellows I if any of you have some idea, let me know please.

This is an exceptionally rare surname. Normally, that means that it is actually a name mangle of a more common surname. And I do mean exceptionally rare.

Of those using that spelling, I've found people from Cuba, Mexico, Phillipeans and Japan.

I can come up with quite a few possible pronunciations. I would suggest asking a few people how THEY would spell your surname just by you VERBALLY telling them the name and see what comes up. You could try figuring out a few alternate spellings yourself and see if one happens to match a much more common surname.
