I checked out obitfinder.com and couldn't find anything that wasn't within the last few years. Since this is way older than that, here are a few more options.

My advice to you is to search for what the local newspaper is in Three Rivers, Michigan and contact them directly with his date of death. They might be able to narrow it down to what issue it was, and they may be able to direct you to the obituary online or else you might even be able to get a back copy of the paper (some keep archives way before others). It might cost you a few dollars to have it sent to you, but that's not very much and it's better than subscription fees to expensive sites that may turn up empty.

If that isn't an option, go to your local library and ask a librarian. Often they have a TON of family genealogy information available through their computers for free and can show you how to access the records!

If THAT doesn't work, do a web search for genealogy forums. There are often many helpful people there who can tell you where to look and what to look for to find the correct obituary.

Best of luck to you, and I am sorry for your loss (even though it was a while ago, it leaves a hole in your life nevertheless). I hope you find the information you are looking for.

Go to www.obitfinder.com

Some are free, some are not. But the ones that are not free are only $2.95 and they will email it to you immediately. Is it not worth $2.95 to you to have it? That is hardly any great expense. A gallon of gas or a combo meal at McDonalds or a pack of cigarettes cost more than that.
