Sweeney todd?????

Question:i wanted to do a project on sweeney todd but i'm in elementry school and i wanted to know how do to explain sweeney todd to a bunch of kids who aren't even allowed to see pg 13 movies please help!

Well, this would probably be better answered in another section, but I'll take a shot. First, how old are you talking? Second, why Sweeney Todd? And third, you forget that nowadays kids see violence regularly on video games, movies, and televisions. I'm sure at least some of them saw the trailer on the movie that just came out. So, you actually wouldn't have all that much difficulty explaining it. They could probably give you a few ideas on how to keep it interesting. Now, trying to explain it to kindergarteners, that might be a little tricky, and I'd steer away from that one. But 11-13; no problem. They've seen worse with their parents.

I'd be very matter of fact. Don't show anything graphic, or get really gross in the description. Act like you're explaining the insides of a frog in science class. A bit distant. Don't get all happy when you're talking about it, or they'll think you're nuts. But don't get all grossed out yourself, or you turn them off the whole project.

You might want to explain what a straight razor is, though. Most kids now have no clue.
