I'm assuming that you know approximately where they lived? Perhaps they are former neighbors? If so, all I can think of is to locate old "criss-cross" telephone books and look up their street address. Perhaps when you see the name it will jog your memory.

"Criss cross" telephone books (aka reverse directory) are arranged by address instead of name.

See worldcat.org to track these down or contact your local library.

Another tactic would be to contact the school(s) (if he/she was a student) and see if there's an alumni association. If there's a newsletter, maybe you could post a notice...?

I second Gene. The local history room of the library in the town (assuming it is the USA) will have old phone books and old city directories. City directories have the reverse listing she wrote about. You'll have to drive past the place you remember to see what address it is.

The thought of a web site where you can ask to see every red-headed blue-eyed man with a scar on one cheek who ever lived in Pocatello is ludicrous.
