Question:Ok was told that my Grandfather's Grandfather on my mom's side was a Sweedish settler who married a daughter of Sitting Bull...
And my Fathers side is untraceable due to his mother being adopted.....but she was told she has american indian blood in her too, and his father has indian facial features but never looked into his heritage.....so is there a way to trace back if I have all the last name of my past family members, that wont cost anything..?

MyKill - First of all - How cool, to be related to Sitting Bull!!

Since you are Lakota Sioux - Their reservations would be in North & South Dakota - You could try writing these States for information about contacting

It's going to be a long process, MyKill - so, you'll need patience.

Believe it or not - The Mormon Church (No, I do not belong) has one of the biggest databases of people's heritage. If there is one in your area - just go and ask, "Do you have this computer database & May I Use It?" -- They are happy to let non-Mormons use it.

FYI - The purpose of the database is that they believe that they can save the souls of people who have already passed - which conflicts with the standard Christian doctrine.

Never give-up on your family-tree - I started years ago and everytime that I think I've reached a dead-end -- New info shows-up later --

In short - There is always a chance you can find what you're looking for in your heritage.

Hope this helps.
