Question:anyone else aware of or seeing problems in the undecided questions for voting?
I went to vote/ clear out some old questions, and find several show on the undecided "list" .. yet when I click them open, they are supposedly 'resolved". Earlier tonite.. some of the questions were like 2 months old.. still showing in 'undecided', and when opened, the votes clearly showed no tie, clear "winners".. and still on the list when I went back.
this doesn't include some oldies where there are 5 answers..each with one vote, and sitting there, choking until someone decides to break the log jam.
We all get worn out, if we make the effort to find some info for someone.. then they go off and we never hear from them again.. they don't pick an answer. That's bad enough.
But this other thing, has me stumped. I just want to see if my system needs caffeine or what...

Thank goodness there's someone else who tries to clear the log jam. I've practically choked on drinks before when I saw how many questions were still "In voting," at least in certain sections. Others, like the Genealogy area, is a rare gem on here as there are so many who refuse to let the best answer go unrecognized and thus there are only maybe forty or so "in voting" answers there (there were 110 last I looked which is a heck of a lot better than 283,000 or more) and the majority were still "in voting" because the time limit hadn't yet run down.

But anyhow, yes I have noted this problem before in the Video and Online Games section, where a few questions with an obviously "best answer" (either it having the only vote on the question or have the majority of the votes) has been placed under the "Undecided" category when it obviously was resolved. I believe the oldest one of these I found was three months old the last time I looked. Probably older by now if it hasn't decided to finally pass over to the resolved category. Funnily enough, I just found one which was obviously resolved with Ted Pack having the best answer but yet, it's still under the undecided category. The link's below.

As for your system needing caffeine...yes, it probably does...just like all of us who get exhausted putting plenty of information in our responses and the question goes to a vote. Here's an electronic caffeine source for you (I'll let you choose as I don't want to give you something you don't like. :) ) in celebration of your resolve to keep clearing out those unresolved questions. Bravo!

Hi Wendy,
No, your system doesn't need caffeine. Well, maybe it does, but not because of the questions in voting. :-) I've been noticing the same thing and you are right. Some of the questions have a clear winner by three or four votes! I noticed it a few days ago when we had that cold snap. I wonder if there is a glitch in the system. At any rate, we all appreciate you for helping to clear out the system so that we don't have a million questions out there in oblivion! Take care and I hope that you are well.

The only strange thing I've noticed, as far as the old questions are concerned, is I got a best answer last week for a question I answered 4 months ago. I guess someone finally broke that log jam.......I have noticed a few other problems with Yahoo Answers, so maybe what you saw last night is just another example of the Yahoo gremlins misbehavin'.........
