Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: i am looking for a long, lost aunt.
i know the chances are nil, but have tried everything else.

My mother was called Esme -died aged 48 in 1972
her mother (my grandmother) was called Esme-died aged 81 in 1981
and my Grandmothers aunt was called Esme - died aged 87 in 1957
in each case it was short for Esmeralda
I appreciate it is not likely but what was your aunt's surname
You can send me an email if you would prefer to.

esme sounds like a turkish name my brother in law is turkish

If Esme is a christian name then you would need to give a surname as well, but if your aunt is living then its considered unethical to post information in relation to any living person on any yahoo forum.
You could try www.192.com or www.genesreunited.co.uk
Hope this helps.

Blimey. Esme is a name you don't hear very often these days. It's a bit of a long shot nonetheless, given that there are 55 million people in England.

I do. Surname is Penfold. Lives in the south of England.

I went to school with somone called esme. she'll only be 23 now though.
