On the 1930 census of Mount Carmel,Wabash County, Illinois, there is a Randall Hoffner born about 1922. He is the grandson of the head of household Herbert P. Brines born about 1876. Herbert's wife is Mary born about 1878. Also their daughter Enola who is Randall's mother was born about 1901. This might be a connection to your Randall.

Also there is a record of a Randall Nolan Hoffner born 1921 died 1998 buried Highland National Cemetery in Illinois.

Also there is a Randall N. Hoffner that enlisted as private in U. S. Army February 19, 1943. They show his year of birth as 1866 which can't be right. That would have made him 77 when he enlisted. His enlistment city was Fort Sheridan.

His birth certificate should have and his death certificate might have the names of his parents including his mother's maiden name. The death certificate would probably have their places of birth.

Also California has a marriage record of a Randall L. Hoffner born about 1947 on June 25, 1965. If Los Angeles County kept the applications for a marriage license that far back, they usually have parent information.

Nevada also has a marriage record of a Randall l. Hoffner on July 25, 1987. It doesn't give the county, but if they kept the marriage license application you might be in luck.

Also an application for a social security number will probably have both parents' names including the mother's maiden name
and their places of birth.
