This book is available at the British Library

The Mudd Family of the United States.
MUDD, Richard Dyer. Published: 1951.

They also have
List of corrections for the Mudd family history of the United States.
MUDD, Richard Dyer. Published: 2004

The British Library has branches at St Pancras, Boston Spa and Colindale (North London). You would need to contact them to see which branch has the books (I couldn't tell from their website -- take a look http://www.bl.uk)

there are scam business out there, publishing fake books. If this is the kind of book it was, think twice.
If you know of another legitimate family history.. that is different. One location to look at might be www.genforum.com, which probably has a section of persons, doing research on the name.

The Maryland State Library has a copy, and given Sam Mudd's infamy, I'm betting there are other major libraries that have it as well. Start with the online catalogue of your state's major library. Most will circulate their books to local libraries so that you don't have to trek to the state library to read it.

Hello; There is a reprint being sold on EBay at the moment. Its number is 140193502333 so if you go to www.ebay.com and search for that number on the main page, you will be taken to it. The link below might also work. It is expensive (buy it now for $220 US for two volumes ), but there it is. You might find it on amazon.com or one of the other used bookstore websites abebooks.com, etc.

Good luck

Norm

Happy hunting!

I did not know there were Mudd Family Books (we are talking about Dr Samuel Mudd who treated John Wilkes Booth after his assassination of President Lincoln)
