I don't know of anyone now with the surname Leech, I had a school teacher by that name, but I've been left there for quite a while.

Youre up with a chance - there really are hundreds of people on the Electoral Roll with Leech as their surname so maybe one of them will be "tuned in"
Have you tried just entering "Leech Family" into Google to see what comes up?
The few people I've known with that surname have been Irish.
