What would my sister's grandson be in relation to me?

Question:What I mean is...there are cousins, aunts, uncles etc...so would I be his great aunt? It just doesn't SEEM right because a 'great' seems like there should be another generation between us, but I'm not sure how that goes.

And sister's grandson would be your great Nephew, because there is a blood line, but if great nephew marries someone, that person isn't your kin, but if they have a child, than that kid is your great, great, nephew... It can happen and you are blood related to this grandson of your sister... It's like if my sister's kid had a kid, that kid would be my great nephew or neice.... Get it?

As far as I know, there are no grand aunts and consequently, no grand nephews. So it jumps from aunt to great aunt. You'd be the great aunt.

Yes, you are his great aunt. I have 8 nieces and nephews, and each of their kids is my great niece/nephew (I have 18 of those, including the 2 stepchildren of my niece). My sister and 2 brothers are grandparents to all of them. I have just 2 nephews who aren't married/had kids yet.
You are aunt to your sister's daughter or son, so their son is your great-nephew. Just like your cousin's children are your 2nd cousins, etc.

P.S. My middle name is for my grandmother's brother--my great uncle, my mom's uncle.
