Question:iam researching a very popular name! and have hit a brick wall. the name is williams from shropshire 1791. i want to try newspaper archives as i feel this would be relevant and i havent tried it yet. does anyone know any sites that are user friendly?

Not on-line, but if you want old newspapers details, there is a newspaper museum at Colindale, North London, part of the British Library.

I can't see how there are going to be relevant newspaper archives unless your ancestor was particularly famous or notorious. There may be a family history society in the area that would do parish record look-ups for you, if you want to go back further than the post 1837 Birth, Marriage and Death Registration records, and the census records from 1841 onwards.
