Question:I am getting married to a man who was adopted from an indian tribe in interior BC, but because his mother had him here in Ontario, it is going to be difficult to find any family he might or might not have. He is having some depression issues and really would love to meet a family member, just to know where he comes from. If anyone has any advice please let me know.

What's hard to help with is that we don't know how much information he has on his mother. Does he know the tribe? Her name? When was he born? Was the adoption immediate? Was it through a religious agency or a provincial agency? Where was he born in Ontario? Was it in a hospital or at a home for unwed mothers?

We'll happily do our best to help him. I only live 20 minutes from Ontario and know the resources there well, but much depends on how much information he already has and what we can do with it. If you want to send me an email through my profile, I'll be glad to help however I can.
