The ending -je is like our -ie. So Anna becomes Annie in English just like in Dutch Annette becomes Annettje and Magdelena become Maggeltje. The pronunciation would be Muh gell tee (the g being like girl or gull instead of a sharp g like in gelatin)

You'd make your daughter's life easier if you gave her a name that was close but was normal, like "Margaret". I'd bet large sums at long odds some of her classmates will call her "Mac Guilty" once she explains how it is pronounced, and that 95% of the people she meets won't know how to pronounce it.
