Position:Home>Genealogy> Any information on Thomas John Bridges from Rochester, NY?

Question:I'm looking for information on Thomas John Bridges. I know that he lived in Rochester, NY around 1920's. I've been told that he was Mayor of Rochester, but I don't know when. He would have died in the early 1920's. He married Cora Francis Walbeck about the same time period. I'm not sure where. I know that he had two children: Thomas John (Jr.) and Dorothy Jean (b. Jan 27, 1921). Any information about this line would be greatly appreciated.

In 1910, he was listed in monroe county as well

His mothers birthplace in this census is listed as Scotland rather than Ireland. He was listed as widowed in this census which is entirely possible since he was 45 years old. He was living with his mother in law Mary M. Wells who was 72. His occupation at this time was a farmer. Millard Filmore, who was also in the household was listed as a boarder.

Household Members: Name Age
Thomas J Bridges 45
Mary M Wells 72
Millard K Filmore 63

There are some online family trees that have his first wife listed as Nora Wells. This is something you must verify. There was indeed a Thomas J. Bridges in Rochester. I have a copy of a caricature available on Ancestry that I can send you. just send me a private message if you want me to send it. In it, it refers to him as the "superintendent of Poor, Monroe County." I found a reference where he held office for the Board of Supervisors in Perinton from 1906-1907

I hope this helps.
