Wow - tough question. It certainly seems to be an English name (though I also found it as a variant of Hagombart) but I couldn't even find a hint of what it could mean. Very unusual. It might be a geonymic, a surname related to a place, geographic feature (such as "Hill"), etc. that doesn't exist anymore.

hagombart seems to be the original, and comes from France.
