Surname Search....Samouris?

Question:Ok ive been doing family research for ever....but iam stuck on my ggfarther.....All I know is he came from Greece with his brother....[dont have the brothers name].....in about 1910 or so...All we know is my ggfather settle in Iowa and his brother went west to California....Any other Samouris out there?
I already tried most genealogy web site....free and paid membership....But still hitting the brick wall every-time.

Was your ggfather married in a church? I would suggest locating any possible churches and contacting them by paper mail. Often church records (especially Greek Orthodox and Catholic) will contain a note on the location of the person's Baptism should anyone have a need to verify the Baptism occurred. Less likely, but still possible, a comment could have been made next to his children's Baptism records.

Sometimes you have to leave the cyberworld and go back to writing a letter to get answers.
