Position:Home>Genealogy> Trying to find the tribe my husband's from? We have been told he is either A

Question:Not being nasty, but the name is irrelevant.
A person named Caldwell (for example) may have 3 sons, one of whom married a Native american, the second married a woman from the Phillipines, and the 3rd marries someone from Germany. The descendants will have the same last name in the male line, but it won't reflect their actual ethnic background.
You have to trace the specific individual and find records (if any) of his/ her ancestry.

Some resources for searching Native ancestry. Please be sure to keep an open mind... MANY MANY persons believe they have Native lineage, when it simply is not a fact. You won't be sure without research.
