I hope this website will help you. Don't pay any attention to the two that want to talk trash.

http://www.cherokee.org/

Well, we raped your women and took your land. However, we do allow you to live on the reservations in Oklahoma, so it's all even.

You might want to check out this website. It lists many ways to look up your indian heritage.

cherokee like other native americans are a dying creed.

Back in the old days, american considered the indian to be extremely dirty.

You could bring a indian scalp or the head of a indian to the local court house, they would give you a nickel for it, becuase you proved you killed indian.

There are a few cherokees left. Here in north carolina there is a cherokee casino.

I dont know much about my own Cherokee heritage, but I can guess our forefathers scalped gregory d's mom and raped his father. y else wood he b such a little trash talker? a couple decent people have sent u sum websites to look up ur heritage and u have my contact info, so if u learn anything interesting, contact me. k?

talk about an indian and not much said but if that had been about a black person you would have had death threats...go figure....the indians have had some really bad times and you dont see them out trying to do people harm...duh.

It is not possible to educate you all about your heritage in a little paragraph on here. You are going to have to go to the library and actually read entire books on Native Americans and Cherokees to learn all about your indian heritage. You are going to have to do that work yourself. We cannot do it for you.

If you are half Cherokee, that would mean that one of your parents has to be full Cherokee. The logical thing to do would be to ask that parent.

Osiyo! (Hello in Cherokee.)
My husband is Cherokee and we live in the Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma, which is the second largest tribe in the US with over 100,000 citizens. You can check out the website www.cherokee.org to get started.

If you know you are half Cherokee you should find out what Cherokee tribe you are part of, there are three of them. 1. Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma, 2. Eastern Band of Cherokees, 3. United Keetowah Band
Each group was broken apart from the Cherokee Nation during different times and events surrounding the events leading up to the Trail of Tears when the US government removed many Native american indians from the east to present day Oklahoma.
Who ever you get your Cherokee blood from should be able to tell you which group you are a part of. Then you can contact that tribe through their website to learn more.
