Question:I am part (sp) mannoccan indian tribe. Does anyone out there know anything about the tribe, and correct spelling, and if there is any way to still contact decendents of this tribe. I have so many questions. A great, great , great uncle or something last name of Wilmer was disowned by his mother who changed spelling of name to wilmore and moved to Georgia, don't remember exact year. Anyone know of/share this family story?? I would love to know more. Fascinated with family history and just not much to go on. Also have campell, powell, martin,tomlin, tomlinson, wilmer, wilmore,johnson,etc, can't think of them all right know but family settled jamestown colony, anscestor powell was captain of the ship that brought many to jamestown VA. Any info is very much appreciated. Thank-you

Your spelling is incorrect. It's Monacan. Here's the tribal website. You should be able to take it from there.
