=)

Everyone is related to someone famous. Big deal.
The fun thing is to Google your mother or fathers's last name,
and taking it from there. There are tons of free sites looking for people to add to their data bases. Don't get hooked by those asking for money. Most people who are looking for relatives are hitting the free sites.
Have fun.

I don't know how in the world you could do that without tracing your family, starting with yourself and working back. If you wantta do that, there are lots of good people on this board that can give you a lot of great advice. Just ask.

Family trees on the internet, free or paid, must be viewed with caution. They are user submitted and poorly documented. Even when you see the same information repeatedly by many different submitters, that is no guarantee it is correct. A lot of people are copying without verifying.

You can't go by surnames as not everyone with the same surname are necessarily related or shares ancestors.

Yes.

Am_I_Famous.com.

I put your name in for you. Whoops! Your parents had to get married in June, unless your older brother LeRoy was born 6 months premature there in September. Your uncle Billy Bob fooled around QUITE a bit when he was younger - three kids by three women before he was 21, one a cousin!

You are all seventh cousin eight times removed to Elvis Presley, though. Long live the King!

I am kidding.

KIDDING. KIDDING. KIDDING!!!!!!!

I hope you see why genealogists don't put details of living people on the Internet, and why a site like you suggest would be a bad idea.

Ancestry.com has that, but you do have to pay. SOMETIMES they run a trial period, so you might keep your eyes open and/or get yourself on their mailing list.

As to Elvis - I actually AM related to the guy (8th cousin once removed); he and my mother share a 7th-great grandmother named Marry Perry - who knew?

Good luck.

Information on living persons is restricted, for security. So...I don't know who your grandfather is, nor should you know who mine is. No one should be able to look up someone who is alive, and find who they are related to. Yes, there are places you can find George Bush's ancestors, but this happens because he is a 'public person' and that info is seen as normal to put out there.
Here is the catch... when YOU know who your grandparents (great grandparents, etc) are, THEN yes, there are places to look up who THEY are related to. It is up to you to have the basic research to know your ancestors, with personal records that you have the right to know.
I believe ancestry.com has a section that you can add your info (your ancestors) and they compare it to their "famous persons" file. However, ancestry is a business that has info for sale. That's just how it is.
