Try Leeds central library and the West Yorkshire Archive in Wakefield, and the National archive web site .

Hi the British and Irish Legal Information Institue www.bailii.org is a huge database of caselaw going back years and years and years. There are many different searches you an do so names would probably be one of them.

You could try the Black Sheep website.
Includes newspaper reports of felonious activity, etc.
