Question:I have traced the line back to the early 1800's, but the last one I have is still born in Hereford.

They probably came from Hereford then. They didn't travel much before the early 1800's. I have ancestors who lived in the same place from at least the mid 1600's to present. I haven't researched before that but I presume they lived there a lot further back too

Just keep plugging back assuming that they have lived in Hereford for several hundred years, before Parish Records were kept.
The only way to get a lot further back for their origins is to go for DNA testing - for example Oxford Ancestors will do a Matrilineal Test which will take you back thousands of years (and you may still find them mostly in Hereford!)
DNA testing was done on a skeleton (pre-historic cave dweller) found in the caves in Cheddar, Somerset and it matched with a school teacher in Cheddar village!
Now that is some family tree!

My mother's family is Forrister - however some branches spell it the traditional Forrester. They came to America in colonial times and settled in North Carolina. From what research I've done they came from South Scotland, Northern England, around the Cheviot Hills.
