Position:Home>Genealogy> How is the Hausa-Fulani family structure?

Question:The Hausa-Fulani tribe (as well as closely associated Tuareg and Songhai) have their ties to Islam. Thus I would suspect that the family structure would be consistent with that of Islam.

Not being Islamic, I won't attempt to describe this structure, as I'm sure I would fall short in the way of accuracy and of doing it justice.

But another person might see this and having more knowledge of Islamic family structures, provide you with valid information.

I'll have to assume your question means that you are looking for your ancestors?
Each of these names will have individual persons, who may (or may not) be your relatives. So, for beginning, your success will be much better by looking for specific piece of information, not looking for a whole family history. It is also important to work BACK from yourself. If this is a marriage of Hausa and Fulani, each have their own background. Persons who descend from this (or other) couples may be living, and yahoo rules prohibit living information. It is also contrary to genealogical ethics in general.
You are far more likely to get more help, by being specific. This board is all over the world.. so, you need to provide what you know about location and dates, and preferably a specific name.
