Position:Home>Genealogy> Which tribe am I descended from?

Question:I looked up my family name once on surname finder site and it said that my family came from Germany which is actually true. I read somewhere that my family is descended from the Anglo-Saxons that I believe were from the northern parts of Germany. I understand there were 3 tribes that the Anglo-Saxons descended from. The Angles, Saxons, and Jutes. Which one would I be descended from? Family name is Enders.

All of them, in all probability. People usually started inter-marrying three or four generations after the barbarian invaders stopped raping and pillaging and started farming.

You should be able to get back to the 1700's if you keep at it, but further back than that the records are usually unreliable. They didn't start to use surnames until the middle ages. Anyone who says he can trace back to SPECIFIC Angles, Saxons or Jutes is kidding himself.

sorry, could not find what tribe you are from , but the links below are pretty intersteing regarding your name.

I think its the Laguna

Like telluwhat I had a look for a 'tribe' for you but couldn't find anything in relation to that, but www.ancestry.com confirmed that the name is 'German'
Enders
German: from a variant of the personal name Anders, vernacular form of Andreas.
Hope this helps.
