Position:Home>Genealogy> How can I find one person in USA..?

Question:Hello:
My grandfather left his family in Mexico a lot of years ago. I'd like find him, to know if he still alive, I don't want to cause problems to him and his family, and I don't have money to pay a detective. He was a migrant worker (bracero) in Phoenix, Arizona between the years 1942-1948, the last information I have, is that maybe he is living in Oxnard, CA. His name is Jose Garcia Garcia. Can you give me some ideas how can I find him???....

You haven't given any idea as to how old he would be now, there are lots of Jose G.Garcia's listed as living in California, but without a little more information it's going to be a job and half to find the right one for you. I am quite happy to do the search for you but would need more information from you, and if I do find the right one for you, I couldn't post the information on the forum I would have to email you with that. There are two deceased Jose G. Garcia's listed in California as well.
If you could just have a guess that might help to find the right one for you

Search on google for SSDI and enter his name, to see if he has died. You can narrow your search by entering his year of birth on the form.
If he isn't there, you can try www.switchboard.com and look for phone numbers, but the name is probably going to be hugely common. You can post a request for information on www.rootsweb.com for each county in California, to see if you can find someone who knows him (as you did on yahoo).

Good luck in your search
